Homelab coming along nicely

An old buddy of mine had some servers and a half-rack he was giving away, so I snagged them!

A Dell PowerEdge R610, R710 and an R720. I currently have an R610 that only has 24 gigs of ram, and this 2nd R610 has 32gigs, so first thing I did was install ProxMox on it, joined it to my cluster and then moved my NextCloud VM over to it. This allowed me to dedicate more resources to the NC VM because apparently transfers to/from use ram, and it only had 2GB ram. I gave it 8 now, so we’ll have to see how big of a boost it gets in transfers.

As for the 710/720, I may configure them as a NAS using OpenMediaVault. I’ve not tried this platform before so we’ll see how it goes. I’d like to get my NAS servers connected directly via Fiber Channel and since TrueNas requires an enterprise license for FC, I’m looking at alternatives. If OpenMediaVault works out well, I may get rid of TrueNAS. It’s a good platform, but I’m just 1 guy and wouldn’t pay for an enterprise license.

I’ll install it and post some updates.
