Network Rebuild coming soon

So when I first started building my home network, I realized that wireless is absolute shit. Even the new Wifi6, if you get a gigabit internet connection, there are basically no consumer routers on the market that can come close to providing you gigabit internet, let alone moving that BW over wifi6.

Once you go gigabit however, you start realizing you could just as easily go 10 gig. I purchased another MikroTik CSS326 to go upstairs, and will use a 10Gbe Fiber cable to connect both of them via SFP+. From there, I’ll start fanning out my 10Gbe network.

Most of what I purchased should arrive late next week so I’ll send some updates along the way. I also purchased another server, a PowerEdge R610 for some other tasks I want to happen, so connecting the servers via 10Gbe is my focus at the moment.

Networking is pretty amazing once you start understanding it all and the difference between Layer 2 and Layer 3!
