So my cat walks ontop of me all night long, which means I wake up a few times a night. She’s probably doing this to get attention, which works, because I wake up and rub her head or ears.
She wants attention on her time though. If she’s sleeping and I go in for a ear rub she gets all pissy and whines at me.
I’ve never owned a cat with such a weird emotional attachment to me. She cuddles with me almost every night. She’ll come up to within just a few inches of my face like “hey, I’m here, time for cuddles”, so I’ll pull her into my chest and she’ll stay like this for a while until she gets too hot and then runs off. This little routine of walking on me, asking for cuddles, happens a few times a night.
Eventually she goes and sleeps on the corner of the bed, but that’s only after all the off and on cuddling that has happened. This is also with one of my dogs who constantly moves on and off my pillow, the same pillow I put my head on.
Once summer hits, it’ll be too warm for them to want to cuddle so they sleep at the edge of the bed. Summer can’t come soon enough!
