Cox is still down…

It’s becoming comical at this point. How can a multi-billion dollar company have this long of a service outage? Imagine if this happened to your cell phone service..

According to the agent I talked with yesterday, there’s “high usage” in my area that’s causing the outage. “high usage” ? So higher than average usage knocks entire areas offline? Is this just the downsides of using cable?

At this point I may look into purchasing the Unifi AT&T LTE Backup module. I’ve seen it for around $99(used), which isn’t bad.. the only issue is the charge. Right now it’s $5 for 1GB but after June 1st its being bumped to $10, so I may just continue to use my hotspot..

And seeing as how ISP’s have a near monopoly in the US, my choices for gigabit internet are slim to none. Time to regulate ISP’s?
