So my cat clawed me

She hit me right on the index finger knuckle just above my palm. It must have been deep enough to hit a vein because my knuckle is all black and blue and it bled like a river.

And yes, she has all her claws. I personally think declawing a cat is terrible and can lead to all kinds of weird behavioral issues. Bing “how a cat is declawed” and you’ll agree.

Why did my cat claw me? Well, I was messing with her last night, playing a little too rough. If you’ve ever had a cat, you’ll know that a cat’s need for attention is limited. The first couple of minutes of petting is fine. Eventually, their tail starts whipping back and forth and you’re about 50%. Once they start the “stop touching me” meow, petting them beyond this point is 100% a liability. A cat meows based on feelings, so you will know the difference between “Feed me” meow, and “stop touching me” meow.

I ignored this warning and now have a bruised knuckle among some possible other scratches that I can’t confirm or deny are related.
